When Parent Owns the Problem, Parenting on Purpose skills are to teach cause and effect principles.  These skills help shape our Child/Teen's behavior in positive ways.  This gives our Child/Teen motivation to excel in their activities because they experience the benefits from their efforts as well as learn the negative consequences that come from negative behavior.  Cause and effect principles help our Child/Teen learn how the world works and how to invest their time and energy effectively to get their needs met in positive ways.
